Question: Does this thing really work?

This is a valid question. Too many vendors misrepresent the actual features of their systems. There's a lot of 'vaporware' out there that is not well-tested or even real. Question: How much is it really going to cost?

Vendors also often underestimate the actual cost to implement. There are typically many hidden costs, as well. While the initial costs seem low, consulting and customization can be extremely expensive with other vendors. Everyone's needs are slightly different. That's why Digitec offers three-tiered pricing. Question: Is Knowledge Direct WEB supported by a stable company?

Vendors tend to be bought out or go out of business, which means that you can be 'locked in' to a system that may not be supported in the future. Digitec is a privately-held company, in business for 14 years, with a 98% Dun & Bradstreet Customer Satisfaction rating. This is our core business, and as savvy business people, we intend to grow our business, not sell it.

Digitec keeps the Knowledge Direct WEB source code in escrow to be released to the client, in case anything should happen. The code is written in ColdFusion, which is well-documented and well-supported, so a client could take our source code and find another host, if necessary.

Question: I don't have the staff to manage this. Is Knowledge Direct WEB difficult to administer and manage?

Many Learning Management Systems were designed by software development companies. These can be complicated to set up and use, requiring in-house expertise and IT resources. Knowledge Direct WEB was designed by instructional designers, so that there is very little learning curve to creating e-Learning. Typically, even a non-technical user can set up a student type, create and assign a module, develop an assessment or Flash activity, and enable online registration--all within minutes. Students can start learning right away.

Question: I need this site to be up in a few days, not months! Can I do that?

This depends on the complexity and the amount of content you want to create. For a simple familiarization training module created in PowerPoint and exported using Digitec's Direct-to-WEB, Knowledge Direct WEB can still be set up and accepting student logins in 30 minutes. And this time includes adding some games-based learning interactivity within the PowerPoint module!

Question: But we don't have any content. Do I have to hire someone to create it for me?

You can creating e-Learning modules from the content you already have, including PowerPoint, Word, HTML, video, Adobe Acrobat, etc. Or you can use the Direct-to-WEB feature to create highly interactive, Flash modules using Microsoft PowerPoint. And these modules can include streaming audio and video.
