ASCO Learning Portal
ASCO's goal was to assist their members in improving cancer care and prevention by providing continuing education to physicians.
ASCO turned to Digitec to provide an eLearning portal for their nearly 30,000 members. Digitec designed the portal, so that members could easily purchase either Self Evaluation or Maintenance of Certification offerings. The portal integrates with ASCO's existing member database to provide a simple, single sign-on to their learning portal.
The Knowledge Direct platform enables physicians to login in and assess their current mastery through practice exams. Based on the results, the system automatically tailors the instruction to provide physicians with a refresher in only those areas needing review. And by integrating with the online certification exam system, members can take the exams through the portal to renew their certifications as well... all from their computer, available 24/7.
For administrators, Knowledge Direct provides a robust assessment engine, with an extensible test bank. By linking test items directly back to the content, the practice exams become an effective learning tool. Administrators can also easily create and distribute new courses, which are automatically added to the course catalog listing available on the ASCO web site.
