Associations have a tremendous opportunity to serve an unmet need in education and training. Colleges and universities are not teaching specialties any longer and thus creating a skills gap problem in the workforce. Associations are uniquely suited to bridge the skills gap and become the new post higher education learning system our country needs. Already, many associations are providing education for their members. And by broadening and better marketing these opportunities, associations can increase their value by helping ensure their members do not fall on the wrong side of the skills gap. In this session, Bree Sutherland, eLearning Specialist at the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and Jack McGrath, President & Creative Director at Digitec Interactive introduce a continuing education and professional development model associations can implement to compete with traditional suppliers of higher education.
